Ways to Give
As a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit corporation, MERI depends on grants and charitable donations from corporate sponsors, foundations and individuals to help extend its mission and vision. MERI accepts donations in the following ways:
- In-kind donations of medical equipment and supplies
- Donate your body to the Genesis Donor Program
- Donate to our Development Campaign
Under the leadership of the Board of Directors who established a five-year strategic plan in 2006, the MERI has established a Development Campaign to update and expand the current facility. These enhancements will increase the impact MERI has on medical education, research, advancements in medical technology, patient safety and ever improving patient outcomes. To better serve our constituents and enhance Memphis as a global center for medical training, education and research, we are building on our success and transforming our 14 year old facility into a state-of-the-art center for students to learn, to research and to invent the latest technologies in minimally invasive patient care.
Development Campaign Goals:
- Enhance education by providing a state-of-the-art renovated facility to include high-tech equipment, expanded lab space, updated lighting, updated imaging and improved interior space
- Support the national hands-on training needs by providing the tools to support the growing "on-the-road" training and education
- Support the expansion of hands-on best practice care with the addition of a da Vinci® robot for surgeon training and intervention of new best practice patient techniques
- Expand patient care offerings with additional medical simulators to be used to ensure physician, nurse, and other health care professionals proficiency
- Expand medical inventions with enhanced research opportunities
- Promote Memphis and Shelby County as a global center for research, education and technology
