2025 Donor Celebration Service

On September 27, 2025, MERI held its annual Donor Celebration Service, which is a yearly gathering that celebrates one of the most meaningful moments on the MERI calendar. It’s a day we set aside not to talk about announcements or milestones, but to talk about something a lot more personal and infinitely more important. Expressing a deep and unhurried gratitude to the donors who chose to give the gift of whole body donation, and to their families who decided to fully honor those wishes with complete compassion and grace.

MERI is forever grateful to every donor whose selfless decision to contribute to medical education and research leaves a lifelong legacy that helps countless physicians, surgeons, nurses, and EMTs who train at MERI’s Memphis facility. Their impact begins with a single act of generosity, and it is one that the entire MERI and Genesis team holds with utmost respect.

To all of the families who attended the 2025 celebration: your loved one’s decision to give in a way such as this requires a lot of courage, foresight, and belief in something bigger than themselves. We don’t take this sort of trust lightly. Not on the day a donor arrives, or during the time at the facility, and definitely not when the time comes to return them to you.
