On September 30, 2018, MERI and the Genesis Whole Body Donation Program came together for their annual Donor Appreciation Celebration. A meaningful gathering dedicated purely to honoring the donors whose generosity made the previous year of medical education and research possible. And to the families who stood beside them every step of the way.

The celebration brought together donor families, MERI staff, Genesis team members, and members of the broader medical community in a spirit of deep gratitude and shared purpose. For many families in attendance, it was an opportunity to see firsthand the environment in which their loved one’s gift was received, and to hear directly from the people whose professional lives were shaped by that gift.

What makes the Donor Appreciation Celebration meaningful year after year is not the ceremony itself, but what it represents: a community of families and professionals bound together by the belief that medicine advances with a gift at a time.
